The Food and Drugs Monitoring Agency (BPOM) has sealed off baby food company PT Hassana Boga Sejahtera at Taman Tekno in South Tangerang, Banten, for allegedly having illegally produced unsafe baby food products under the trademark Bebiluck, including porridge and pudding, for distribution mostly to Java, Kalimantan and Sumatra. The agency''s head, Penny Lukito, said on Monday that the agency had confiscated 16,884''pieces and 217,280 packages of products worth Rp 733 million (US$55,730). "The Bebiluck products are processed foods of high demand because they are aimed to substitute breast milk for infants aged between six months and two years," she said. She said the production of the foods did not meet safety standards and they were distributed without a license from the BPOM.
